The Center for Materials for Information Technology at the University of Alabama has been designated by the National Science Foundation as one of twenty-nine Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers in the U.S. As a result of this and other funding, the Center will from time to time seek qualified research personnel to participate in an expanding multi-disciplinary research program focusing on magnetic thin films and particulate materials. Thirty faculty from seven academic programs including Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mathematics, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Physics participate, which provides students a wide range of experimental and theoretical research choices. Strong communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment are critical.
